Members of the Tidewater Rotary Club continue to embrace Rotary International’s motto of “Service Above Self” by dedicating their time, talent, and resources to improving lives across Talbot County.
The club’s popular annual Trivia Night fundraiser will take place on Wednesday, May 13th from 5:30–7:30 PM at 4 Dogs Brewing Company & Pub in Easton. The event promises a lively and engaging evening as teams of trivia enthusiasts—from local businesses, nonprofits, and groups of friends—compete for bragging rights while supporting a vital cause.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the club’s FOLKS (Feeding Our Local Kids & Seniors) initiative, which works to combat hunger throughout the region. There are currently two team slots still available (teams of four), and registration details can be found at TidewaterRotary.org.
Founded in 2011, the Tidewater Rotary Club has built a reputation as a “small but mighty” organization, contributing tens of thousands of dollars to local nonprofits through signature events like Bowling Nights and Trivia Nights. The club also played a founding role in the Turning Talbot Purple campaign and has collectively volunteered countless hours to strengthen the impact of organizations serving the community.
In fall 2025, the club launched its ambitious FOLKS Crockpot Challenge, providing new crockpots and meal kits to more than 250 local families. Recipient organizations included all five Talbot County elementary schools, For All Seasons, Talbot Interfaith Shelter, Critchlow Adkins, CarePacks of Talbot County, and Meals on Wheels. This initiative was made possible through generous sponsorships from community members, clubs and businesses.
Additionally, the FOLKS program organized a large-scale food packing event that produced more than 2,500 packets of fortified meals, distributed across Talbot County through local food pantries.
“Tidewater Rotary’s success and our positive impact in Talbot County are a direct result of good people coming together to do good things,” said club President Steve Waltrich. “The fact that we have lots of fun while doing it is an added bonus.”
Tidewater Rotary is a non-religious, non-political organization that welcomes individuals from all backgrounds who share a commitment to service, fellowship, and community engagement. The club meets every Thursday morning at 7:30 AM, typically featuring speakers from local businesses and nonprofit organizations.
