What an incredible evening we shared on July 25, 2026 at the Ivy Cafe as the Tidewater Rotary Club gathered to celebrate our community, our camaraderie, and our future. Our latest assembly was filled with the laughter and fellowship that define our club, marking the official transition of leadership from our outgoing President, Steve Walthrich, to our incoming President, Rick Hughes.
We would also like to extend our gratitude to all our outgoing officers and committee leads for their dedication, and a special thank you to the members stepping up into new leadership roles this year. Our club’s strength relies on your commitment, and we are excited to see what we can all accomplish together.
A special thank you is due to Bill Crabson for presiding over the installation of our new Board and President. Bill masterfully guided us through the ceremony, trading typical formalities for a lighthearted, belly-laugh-inducing evening that reminded us all why we love being part of this “fun gang.” In true Tidewater fashion, we couldn’t resist a bit of good-natured ribbing for our new president. Knowing Rick isn’t exactly a fan of the traditional “blazer covered in pins and buttons” aesthetic, we presented him with a vintage, eBay-sourced vest adorned with exactly that. It was the perfect, memorable start to a new chapter.
