This holiday season, Tidewater Rotary helped spread the spirit of giving by donating gift cards to accompany Christmas meals at Brookletts Place – Talbot Senior Center. On Friday, December 20, the club provided nearly 100 gift cards to local shops and grocery stores, valued between $20 and $25. These were distributed alongside holiday meals at St. Mark’s Food Pantry, located at Brookletts Place.
The gift cards were generously donated by members of Tidewater Rotary and supporters of the initiative. The club extends its heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to making this annual giving possible.
The event was a true community effort, with 115 Christmas meals handed out to 53 children, 42 adults, and 146 seniors—a total of 241 individuals served. Each meal included turkey, side dishes, and cookies provided by Eat Sprout. As an additional surprise, many of the recipients received one of the donated gift cards.

Although meal distribution was scheduled to begin at 8:30 AM, cars were lined up down the street as early as 7:30, underscoring the importance of this initiative to the community. Smiles, words of thanks, and even hugs of appreciation made the day particularly meaningful for the volunteers who helped distribute the meals and gift cards.
Brookletts Place provides Talbot County seniors with a place to grow, thrive, and connect. By supporting this mission, Tidewater Rotary continues to build a stronger, more connected community.
Special thanks go to Brookletts Place, Eat Sprout, St. Mark’s Food Pantry, and the dedicated volunteers who made this event possible. Their efforts brought holiday joy and meaningful support to families and seniors throughout Talbot County.
