Message from the President: Upcoming Events & FOLKS Initiative Update

Dear Fellow Rotarians,

Discover Rotary Event Wrap-up

Thank you to everyone who attended or helped in some way with last Wednesday’s Discover Rotary event. We had a total of 48 attendees, including 7 or 8 who expressed interest in learning more about TR and possibly joining.

  • The Club will be following up with these individuals and hopes to welcome them to an upcoming meeting soon!

Upcoming Events and Service Opportunities

  • No Meeting Thursday, November 27: Have a Happy Thanksgiving!
  • Club Social Announcement: December’s Club Social will feature a renowned Frederick Douglas scholar, Dr. Celeste-Marie Bernier from the University of Edinburgh, who will deliver a short presentation on her work.
    • Special Note: This month, the Club Social will be held at Brookletts and will begin at 5:00 PM. Light refreshments will be served.
  • Festival of Trees & Carols by Candlelight: The 2025 Festival of Trees will be held in The Gold Room of The Tidewater Inn from Saturday, November 29, to Tuesday, December 2, 2025. FOLKS Initiative Update

Our fundraising effort is off to a strong start!

Many donations have come in following emails that members have sent to their friends, neighbors, acquaintances, etc. If you have not already sent such an appeal, I strongly encourage you to do so. Check your inbox for my suggestions.

Thanks for all you do and Happy Holidays ahead!

Steve
